Carma Jewell — artist, tutor, champion of kids

My name is Carma Jewell. I'm an artist and a qualified Art Tutor. After years of teaching art to young children, I discovered one important fact: children love to have fun. They love to use their imaginations, and no matter what their drawing or painting looks like, their little faces beam with pride at their own creations.

Children love to paint, to play with colour, and to have the freedom to create at their own pace. For us it's not only the outcome of their creation that matters — it's how much fun they had in class, and how much they grow in confidence.

At Art4Kidz we recognise that every child has a unique personality. Some are shy, some are outspoken, some can sit still while others need to be active. We find effective ways to teach all those different personalities in one class, rather than boxing children into one mould.

Our motto is that there are no mistakes in art, and if you're not having fun, you're not creating art. Allowing your child to create without fear of making mistakes — and to freely express their ability as they grow — helps them build self-confidence and believe in what they can do.
